Best server/faction for RP and gameplay? Greetings, fellow adventurers! I'm a fairly recent returnee, since other MMOs just don't hold my attention for very long. I'd like to get my fresh start on an RP realm, and while RP is kind of my focus, I'd also like to have a community around to actually play the game, in addition to RP. Those RP servers have a high demand for cool looking gear. Wyrmrest is the best for rp, if you're horde. WoW is a decent game for sake of a game to play, it’s not/never going to be an amazing or complex story, and honestly it’s more transparent than a Disney Marvel movie (not to mention potentially copied, thanks Danuser) and when it comes to actual game play your mileage will vary based on what class/spec you play.Go for Silvermoon/Ravencrest. Basically having the most people on your faction on the server is the most important. Advantages are that you get more guilds, more people in cities and trade chat, and a healthy economy (though that is not faction-specific). Moon Guard! MG is actually not very populated. Most of the people you see there are just people sitting in the towns RPing, but in terms of doing content, it’s a fairly small server. Lagaran represent! Nothing is wrong with stormrage. I just want a “clean” start on a new server where I’m not distracted by my main. Warmane is not highly regarded here at all. All but one of the realms is completely P2W, and the PvP is cross-realm so you'll be at a huge disadvantage anyways. Classic WotLK should be out within the next year or so, would be better to wait for that instead. I really want to play a tank in WoW classic - I tried getting into it before but redridge mountains was just chaos incarnate - could barely move two steps without getting ganked for 2 months straight.Wobling Goblin is a lesser-known PVE server (progressing through the original trilogy, currently in Vanilla) based out of Oceania. Bloodsail Buccaneers (RP), the unofficial Hardcore server on Classic Era, is the most active Classic Era server by far. It has hundreds of people playing Hardcore every day, which is a playstyle that is addon-supported but not officially supported by Blizzard.
